A new programme has started to welcome back Catholics who are considering returning to the Church. Seven of us are currently enjoying our weekly meetings in a comfortable little room in Warren Lodge.

This is not a study course like the Journey in Faith (RCIA); rather it is a listening course. It is said that listening is the language of God. Our main activity is to listen compassionately as each of us tells something of how God has been active in our lives and shares our personal views on contemporary Catholic themes. Care and sensitivity is needed where there has been hurt and relationship with the Church needs healing.

We reckon that by the end of our seven weekly meetings we shall have got to know each other well enough to consider each other good friends.

We finish each course with a mini retreat led by our Parish Priest with a theme of Reconciliation. Hopefully by then members of our group will know themselves to be safely and happily ‘landed’, accepted and among friends in our parish.

We will welcome anyone feeling they may want to come back. We also need more active parishioners to join the group to help welcome back ‘returners’. Please contact the Parish Office for more information.
