We are now starting the preparations for next year's First Holy Communion Programme. This is the very important sacrament when children receive Jesus for the first time, and the course also includes receiving First Reconciliation.
The course will start in October 2026 with the usual age for receiving the Sacrament for the first time being eight years of age or above (children in primary Year 3 to Year 6, if older, please contact directly to discuss).
We will look to confirm exact dates and other details before we ask for full sign up. By registering your interest, we will reach out to you as soon as we have everything worked out. What we can tell you is the following:
- The course is expected to start in October 2026.
- The First Reconciliation Day will likely be in January 2027.
- The First Holy Communion Day will likely be in June 2027.
- There will be in total of 12 lessons plus a rehearsal day the week before the First Holy Communion Day. There will also be a number of days where the children will help during the mass with Welcoming, Readings, Collection and Offertory.
- Lessons will take place on Sundays after 11am mass, starting at 12:15 until 1:45pm.
- The course cost will be £50 which covers the cost of the course book, a blank prayer book, a book bag, snacks at each lesson, banner making materials and certificates.
If you would like your child to be included, please complete the form below. Registering interest has now closed, and final registrations for the course are currently taking place. Contact the parish office by 9th October 2026 if you had still wanted to register and missed the deadline.
